David Pekala, 74, of Cape Coral, FL, born on October 11, 1950, in Chicago, IL, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 22, 2025, at Stearns Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Granite City, IL.

David loved the challenge of all types of games, whether it was playing the board game "Sequence" with his family, World of Warcraft online, or a simple game of cards at a casino. Not one for small talk, he liked spending quality time with his loved ones, especially traveling to Aruba with his wife, Pat. Throughout his life, David had much admiration and interest in cars, Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and animals. In his younger years, he had a Corvette that he kept in great condition. David also loved his dear pets, several miniature Schnauzers and talkative birds like an African Grey Parrot and a Cockatiel.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Theresa Pekala (nee Von Huben)

Left to cherish David's memory are his loving wife, Pat Pekala (nee Czap); one son, David (Amy) Pekala; one stepson, Gregory Gadbois; and two grandchildren, Jacob Pekala and Sydney Pekala.
