David William Pendleton, a longtime resident of Baker County, passed away Friday, September 15, 2023 with family by his side. David was born in Macclenny on October 9, 1962 to the late David and Freda Mae (Hill) Pendleton and was one of four children. He would graduate high school and would go on to proudly serve his country in the United States Navy. After his stint in the military, David would begin a successful career in environmental construction, creating Bradco with his best friend, Jerry Bradley, who was more like a brother.
In his spare time, David loved being on the water. He was an avid boater and fisherman. He also enjoyed tinkering and building doghouses. David was a football fanatic and a fan of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his "adopted father": Wayne Griffis; and a brother: Julian Pendleton.
He is survived by his sons: Tyler Pendleton of Glen St. Mary, Zack Lovett of Georgia, and David Pendleton Jr, Josh Heppner, Michael Heppner, and Brandon (Amanda) Heppner all of Macclenny; his wife: Vanessa Pendleton of Daytona; grandchildren; Mikey, Kaylee, Josh, Madison, Jestine, Brandon, and Jackson; siblings: Troy Pendleton of Lake City and Julie (Johnny) Burnham of Macclenny; as well as adopted family: Doris, Derrick and Clay Griffis.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the chapel of Forbes Funeral Home in the near future with dates and time to be announced. Final memorialization will be by cremation.
