David Perkins

David Perkins, Veteran of the Vietnam War, departed this life on January 21, 2026, at the age of 75. David is survived by (4) children: David Pearl (Nina), Saba Butler, Winter Butler, and Crystal Smith, (1) stepdaughter Nicole Brady, (1) god-son Michael Ewing. (4) brothers: Charles, Wayne, Larry, and Jerry Perkins, and (2) sisters: Neomi Barnes, and Elvina Lomax. Preceding him in death are his parents Thomas and Bertha Perkins, (1) brother Ernest Perkins, (1) sister Gwendolyn Newton, (1) grandson Saba Butler, Jr., stepson: Jermaine Brady, (2) nieces: Aline Parker, and Nelisa Perkins, (1) great-nephew Milo J'San, (2) dear companions: Debra Brady, and De'Ester Aagelin. Also survived by a host of other family and friends. A brave and proud hero of the U.S. Army who earned many medals, then receiving an honorable discharge. He chose a career in welding where he became a Lead Supervisor, later he retired. Family and Friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Friday, February 6, 2026, for 9:00 at The Boyd Family Funeral Home, 5001 Chef Menteur Hwy., New Orleans, LA.
