David Perkovich Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral and Cremation Center on Mar. 10, 2026.
David Paul Perkovich, 43, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 5, 2026, after suffering cardiac arrest while vacationing with his family in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

Born July 29, 1982, in Lorain, Ohio, David was the beloved son of Michael Perkovich and Jean Moinet. He graduated from Clearview High School and continued his education at Lorain County Community College, earning a degree in business in 2004.

David built his career as a skilled electrician and handyman, eventually operating his own business. He took great pride in his work and was known for his meticulous attention to detail and strong work ethic. A true craftsman with an artistic spirit, David had a natural talent for creating and building with his hands, always striving to do things the right way.

David loved spending time outdoors and found peace in nature. Whether working on projects, enjoying puzzles, playing games and cards, or watching sports, he treasured the moments spent with family and friends. Especially the love of his life, Marley Rae.

David also had an incredible wit and a wonderful sense of humor. He had a gift for making people smile-whether it was a complete stranger or even the grumpiest person in the room. His laughter was contagious, and his lighthearted spirit could brighten any moment.

More than anything, David will be remembered for the kindness and warmth he showed to others. He had a way of making people feel valued and cared for. When David hugged you, you felt truly special-like you mattered. He was always there for anyone who needed help, encouragement, or simply someone to listen. His compassion, loyalty, and generous heart touched countless lives.

His greatest legacy is the love and kindness he shared so freely with others. Though his time with us was far too short, the impact he made on the lives of those around him will never be forgotten.

David is survived by his mother, Jean (Dave Childress) Moinet; his father, Michael (Cindy) Perkovich; his loving life partner, Marley Jurco; his brother, Joseph (Alicia) Perkovich; his beloved pets, Bruce, Daisy, and Sue; his nieces, Jenna Perkovich and Madalynn Perkovich; his nephew, E.Z. Perkovich; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; his brother, Michael Perkovich, in 2024; and his aunt, Suzanne Moinet, in 2025.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
