David E. Pester, age 74, of Watertown, South Dakota, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.
David was born on October 22, 1950, to Roland and Mary Pester. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and went on to dedicate 40+ years of hard work and loyalty to Terex until his retirement.
David enjoyed the simple joys of life-watching movies, traveling, and admiring vintage tractors. He was a fan of Dolly Parton and had a deep appreciation for her music and spirit.
He is survived by his loving wife, Esmelita Pester; his children, Josey (Rebecca) Pester, Josh (Shannon) Pester, and Elizabeth Pester; and his cherished grandchildren: Danika, Ethan, Evan, Mara, Evianna, Kyla, Rocky, and Mikell. David is also survived by his siblings: Noreen, Ron, Jeff, Angie, Annette, Mary, Randy, and Michael.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Mary Pester, and his brothers Phillip, Jim, and Tom.
David's legacy of love, loyalty, and quiet humor will live on through the many lives he touched.
While a memorial service was not in David's final wishes, the family will gather at a later date to celebrate his life.
