Obituary of David T. Plowman
David T. Plowman, 77, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Friday evening, April 5, 2024 at Lancaster Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Cedric E. and Daisy E. Hayes Plowman. He was the husband of Phyllis J. Fisher Plowman for 27 years prior to her death in 2020.
David attended the Lancaster Alliance Church. Prior to retiring in 2020, he was employed as a truck driver by Central Penn Transportation for 33 years. In addition to bowling at Rocky Springs, he and Phyllis enjoyed western style square dancing and were members of the Do-Pas-O Square Dance Club. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, trapping, and fishing.
David is survived by a son, David E. Plowman of Baxter, MN; three stepchildren, Theresa, wife of Robert Fisher, of Klinefeltersville, Kenneth Luchenbill of Columbia, and Andrew Thomas of Lancaster; eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Plowman; two stepdaughters, Theresa Fisher and Veronica Fetterhoff; a twin-brother, Douglas E. Plowman (aka Douglas Partridge) who was killed in the Vietnam War, a sister, Carol LaBon, and brother, Oscar Plowman.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens, 845 Laurel Hill Road, Columbia, PA.
