David “Dave” B. Potter, 59, of East Moline passed away on July 5, 2024, at Genesis Medical Center Illini Campus.
A celebration of life will be held from 4-6 p.m. Friday July 19, 2024, at The Tangled Wood in Bettendorf. Music will be played outdoors starting around 7 p.m., and the family would like all who are able to stay and listen with them. Per his wishes cremation rites will be accorded.
Dave was born on May 28, 1965, in Harvey, Illinois the son of Tom W. and Karen L. Hoerrmann Potter. He married Jody L. Irby on April 19, 2019, in Rock Island.
Dave was currently employed as a driver for Allied Waste in Bettendorf. He enjoyed listening to 80’s rock music as well as fishing, traveling and cookouts with his family. Dave was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather, he created countless memories filled with laughter and his legacy of love for his family and DaBears will definitely live on through them.
Survivors include his wife, Jody; children; Ryne (Kaylee) Potter, Halle (Kyle) Abendroth and Bryce (Ana) Potter; stepchildren; Kyle (Heather) Irby and Samantha Irby; grandchildren; Madden, Freya, Miller, Rowyn, Renfri, Sage, Drayton, Lennox and Brooks; mother; Karen (Terry) Smith; siblings; Todd (Tina) Potter and Lindsey (John) Federhofer and several nieces and nephews.
Dave was preceded in death by his father and an infant sister.
