Dave passed away suddenly on October 23, 2025, while tending to his beautiful yard.
Born on June 5, 1957, in Concord Ca. to Donald and Betty Rath (both deceased). He graduated from Ygnacio Valley High School in 1975.
Dave was a devoted husband, loving father, loyal brother and proud grandfather. He was a beloved patriarch to the Rath family.
Dave was a hardworking manager at Cosmed/Life Measurement for 28 years, retiring in 2022.
Dave will be remembered by friends and family alike for his kindness, loyalty and strength. Outside of his career Dave was an active member of the Antioch athletic community, coaching his boys and their buddies when they were young, for Antioch and East County Little League Baseball, football and Deer Valley HS baseball. Dave enjoyed riding his Harley, gardening, camping and fishing.
Most of all Dave found his joy as being Grandpa.
Dave is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Melanie, his son Jordan, and his grandchildren, Aria Rose and Hunter Dylan. Dave was sadly predeceased by his son Dylan Cody. He also leaves behind his sister Judy (Hodkinson), his brother Don, Dan and Dale and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be scheduled for a future date.
