David Rayl Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Anderson McQueen Funeral Homes - Tyrone Family Tribute Center on Sep. 17, 2025.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Boyer Rayl, 73, who left this world on September 8, 2025, with the same grit and strength that defined his life. Born in New Brighton, Pennsylvania, and raised in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, David later relocated to Pinellas County, Florida, where he would spend the rest of his life. He is preceded in his death by his parents, Paul and Elizabeth Rayl and daughter, Chrystal Lynn Rayl. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Dave was known by all who loved him as tough as nails-a man who could weather any storm, face any challenge, and do it all with a quiet, steady resolve.

Dave's toughness, however, was only one side of him. Beneath that rugged exterior was a gifted storyteller whose tales-whether of family adventures, life lessons, or just a good joke-could light up a room. He had a way of making people laugh, think, and feel connected, often all at once. His stories were more than entertainment; they were a part of his legacy.

Above all else, Dave loved his family fiercely. They were his pride, his purpose, and his greatest joy. He showed his love not always with words, but with actions-showing up, working hard, and always being there when it mattered most. His presence was a steady rock, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him. Dave was instrumental in the care and raising of his grandchildren, who they affectionately called "Pap Pap", and was the light of their lives.

Dave also had a special place in his heart for animals-his loyal pets were part of the family and never far from his side. They brought him joy, comfort, and companionship through every season of life.

Dave found peace and purpose in nature. He loved planting trees, watching them grow year after year-living symbols of patience, strength, and legacy. Each tree he planted was a quiet reminder of his belief in building something lasting, something that would live on after him.

David Rayl leaves behind a family who adored him, friends who respected him, and countless memories that will be shared and cherished for generations. Dave is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Sharon Rayl, his children, Kelly Rayl-McCormick (Sean), Jennifer Artiaga (Terence "TJ"), Brianna Diaz, six grandchildren, Kaedyn Rayl, Raylynn Artiaga, Landon McCormick, Emberly Diaz, Finley Artiaga, Ella Diaz, and extended family.

Rest easy, Dave. You were one of a kind. Your roots run deep, and your stories live on.

David Rayl's Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 1-5 PM at the Historic Largo Feed Store & Museum at Largo Central Park (295 Central Park Dr, Largo, FL 33771). In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests a donation to your local Society to the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) or The Arbor Day Foundation.

David was my cousin. We grew up together next door to each other. I was raising chickens that he tried to stay away from. I always felt bad about that. I liked having him around because he had no malice in him and he faced many adversities. I am sorry we lost touch with each other. But I believe I will see him again.

So sorry to hear of David's passing. Ronnie and him had so many stories of growing up together.

Sharon and kids, Sorry to hear about
Dave's passing. As your long time co-worker, I did meet Dave a couple times at different functions. Yes, I remember the stories and remembered laughing a lot at our table in Bahama Breeze. You are in my thoughts.
