David is survived by his daughter, Requinn Nicollette of Lakeland, FL; siblings, Robert S. Rea (Diane) of Lugoff, Kathleen Rea of Orlando, FL, Barbara Burton (Gerald) of Greenwood, SC, Laura Willard of Easley, SC, Lt. General Maria R. Gervais (Lt. Col. Chris Gervais) of Fort Eustis, VA, and Gina Williams of Cross Hill, SC; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by brothers, Stewart A. Rea and John C. Rea; and nephew, Robert John Rea II.
Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff Elgin Chapel, is assisting the family.

David, I hope you had a blessed life. Your politeness, humor and wit are still remembered these 40 plus years later. I consider myself lucky to have known you onboard the Benjamin Stoddert. God bless and God speed my friend.
