Richard was born on January 19, 1953, in Joanna, SC, the second son of John I. Moore and Hazel Adams Moore. He died peacefully on July 4, 2025. He was predeceased by his parents and is survived by his brother, John I. Moore, Jr. (Kayran) of Charleston, SC.
Richard was called "Dickie" by those who knew him when he was young, but he preferred "Richard" as he got older. For most of his adult life he was under the supervision of the caring staff at Lee County Disabilities and Special Needs Board. His greatest pleasures in life usually revolved around food and soft drinks, especially Coca Colas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to McLeod Chapel Church at the address given above.
Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
