David Reichelt Obituary

David A. Reichelt, 59, of Fort Madison, passed away unexpectedly at 6:05 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025 at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center.

He was born on Feb. 15, 1966 in Fort Madison to Thomas and Susan Dodge Reichelt. He graduated from Aquinas High School in 1984 and graduated from Southeastern Community College with an auto mechanic certification. He married Deanna K. Woodley on May 17, 1997 in Fort Madison. He started his career at Billips, then Burrows Packaging and lastly worked for 21 years for BNSF as a conductor.

He enjoyed boating on the river, camping at the Tri-State Rodeo, traveling on beach vacations and summer pool parties. He was a grill-master and loved to solve world problems at midnight with his Jack and Coke. His family was his life, and he would do anything for them. He was the mastermind for everything in his family and his grandchildren said that if Papa couldn't fix it, nobody could. His favorite quote to his children was "you'll figure it out".

Dave is survived by: his wife, Deanna Reichelt of Fort Madison; two daughters, Ashley (Eric) Yaley of Fort Madison, and Shayley (Devin) Keester of Fort Madison; one son, Brandon (Allyson) Reichelt of Fort Madison; four grandsons: Ayden Yaley, Liam Yaley, Greyson Keester and Bennett Yaley; three grandpups, Scout, Cooper and Ella; his mother, Susan Reichelt of Fort Madison; one sister, Ann (Tim) Torgler of Montrose; two brothers, Thomas (Cindy) Reichelt of Katy, Texas and Robert (Kim) Reichelt of Fort Madison; his father-in-law: David G. Woodley of Fort Madison; a brother and sister in law, Jamie (Kristy) Woodley of West Point, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, father, mother-in-law Betty Jo Woodley and sister-in-law, Julie Woodley.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 24, 2025 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory.
