David Carl Riley was born on Mar. 2, 1951, in his home Northeast of Pocasset. He passed away at home surrounded by his family on July 12, 2024 in Chickasha.
David attended Pocasset Elementary, but in first grade would run away from school after recess. He graduated from Amber-Pocasset H.S. in 1969, where he excelled academically and loved playing baseball and basketball.
David married his wife, Denice, in 1971. He attended Miami A&E for two years receiving his associates degree in business. In 1979, David went to work for Cochran Abstract Co. and later became owner/Manager. David was a lifetime member of Pocasset Baptist church where he served as a deacon, teacher, and committee member.
David served as a Chickasha Ambassador, and was on the board for Southwest Youth and Family Services. He greatly loved his family, Church family and his many friends. He loved to travel with his wife and friends or family, play golf, and fish. More recently he got "hooked" on trout fishing at Beaver's Bend State Park. He greatly enjoyed hosting family and friends at their cabin there. David and Denice had one daughter, Dedra Shawn Riley Doke, who passed away five years ago. He took great pleasure in trying to help or Bless others in some way. Heaven gained a wonderful servant.
He is preceded in death by his parents, D.C. and Vernia Riley; daughter, Dedra Riley Doke; brother, Gerald Riley; sisters, Sue Turner, Sharon Franks, and Daisy Sprowls.
David is survived by his wife, Denice Riley; son-in-law and daughter -in-love, Keegan and Lydia Doke; granddaughters, Sydney and Aubrey Doke; grandsons, Aidan Doke, Wyatt Durington, and Gabriel Doke; sister, Vickie Kennedy; brothers-in-law, David Franks and Gene Turner; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and family.
