David Allen Ritchie, 65, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away under the care of his hospital and his loved ones on Friday, January 27th, 2023, following a long battle with numerous health ailments.
David was born on May 17, 1957 in Hutchinson, KS. He was the third of five children. David attended Memorial High School and married his best friend, Shari Lynn Ritchie, in December 1974. After starting at a young age, he spent his entire adult career at Ford Glass Plant in Tulsa. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, including traveling to various landmarks and casinos, as well as going on cruises.
He is survived by his mother, Donna Ritchie of Broken Arrow, OK; his son, David Allen Ritchie II and wife, Christy of Tulsa, OK; his daughter, Jennifer Michelle Unruh and husband, Randy of Stillwater, OK; his brother, Rev. Wm. Dennis Ritchie and wife, Carol of Bella Vista, AR; his sister, Karen Lueck of Broken Arrow, OK; and his six grandchildren, Lindee, "Trip", Conner, Landon, Avery, and Evan.
David's family is at peace knowing that he has been reunited with family who preceded him in death: his wife, Shari Ritchie; father, William S. Ritchie; brother, Scott Ritchie; and sister, Susan Ritchie Rector.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, February 24th, at 1:00pm at Lifechurch, South Broken Arrow (5801 E. Elm Place in Broken Arrow -- near Elm and the Creek Turnpike). To honor David and his laid-back style and nature, his family invites guests to come as you are.
David was a quiet man with a big heart who believed in giving back to the community. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma (https://okfoodbank.org) or John 3:16 Mission of Tulsa (https://www.john316mission.org/).
