David Thomas Roberson, age 93, of Thomaston, GA formerly of Lavonia, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Accentcare Hospice in Cumming. He was born on June 17, 1931, in Stephens County to the late Thomas Lee and Eurith Umbehant Roberson. Before his retirement, he worked at the Fisher Body Plant for General Motors. He was a talented woodworker and loved cars. Mr. Roberson was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church.
He is survived by his children: Wanda Brown Reynolds (Don), Thomas David Roberson (Debra), Dianne Paul (Ronnie), and Sandi Brackett Glenn (Randy); grandchildren: Hannah Brown McKenzie (Hunter), Jonathan Brown (Heather), Raymond Thompson, Daniel Thompson (Sarah), Cheyenne Cook, Ashley Reynolds, Heath Brackett (Tylor), Brandon Brackett, Luke Paul (Paige), Taylor Worland (Craig), Kalee Weiland (Michael), and Samantha Glenn,; and great-grandchildren: Lydia Grace McKenzie, Madison Olivia Brown, Olivia Weiland, Jack & Boyer Paul, Joe & Julie Worland, Sam & Ansley Brackett and Alexis Thompson. He is also survived by his siblings: Marcel Roberson Brady, Winston Roberson (Wilma), and Roselle Roberson Dove (Charles); and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Jean Brackett Roberson; stepson, Sammy Brackett, Jr.; son-in-law, Gary W. Brown; brothers, Crawford Roberson, Swain Roberson, Leland Roberson, Doug Roberson, Ed Roberson, and Clinton Roberson; and one sister, Ruby Caudell.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2025 at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mickey Umbehant officiating. Interment will follow in the Lavonia City – Burgess Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at noon.
