David Rufo, of Mahopac, NY, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025 after a valiant fight with cancer; he was 63 years young. Born in the Bronx on November 24, 1961, son of the late Daniel and Sally Rufo, David was a man of service, family, and the simple pleasures in life.
David's commitment to his community was evident through his 30 years of distinguished service as an officer with the NY State Courts, where he rose to the rank of Lieutenant. His work was more than a career; it was a testament to his character, his sense of duty, and his unwavering integrity.
David's passion for life extended beyond his work. He was an avid football and baseball fan, reveling in the thrill of the game. In his younger years, he enjoyed weightlifting, a testament to his discipline and strength. David also had an appreciation for the simple pleasures in life, such as savoring a good meal and enjoying the beautiful view of Lake Mahopac. Above all, David treasured time spent with his family, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kelly, their children Daniel, Monique, and David Jr., and his siblings Frances and Danielle Rufo.
All are welcome to attend a visitation on Saturday, May 3rd from 12-4PM at the Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home in Mahopac, NY. His funeral service will be held at 3PM during the visitation. A private cremation will follow.
