Dave Runion, 75, of Roanoke, IN, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2023, at Lutheran Hospital Fort Wayne, IN.
Dave was born on May 6, 1948, in Huntington, IN, to the late Clifton and Edith (Morris) Runion. Dave was married to Kathy Hower for 56 years. They married August 12, 1967, she survives and lives in Roanoke, IN.
Dave was a 1967 graduate of Huntington High School, and a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Roanoke, IN. He was a Retired Huntington City Firefighter serving 20 years. He also worked for Lutheran Hospital Security for 10 years. He was the owner of Dave's Delivery Service and a former owner of B-Safe Fire Extinguishers. He also worked for Pathfinder Services Manufacturing in Huntington, IN.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters Julia (Anthony) Zirpoli of Fort Wayne, IN and Sheri Runion of Fort Wayne, IN. He is also survived by one granddaughter, Emma (Cole) Kessie and one great grandson, James Kessie. In addition, he is survived by two sisters Lucille Wilson of Huntington, IN, and Susie (Terry) Lindsey of DeWart Lake, IN, stepbrothers Sam Crago, Huntington, IN and Fred (Rhonda) Crago of Huntington, IN and one stepsister Nancy Bozell of Michigan.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Clifford, Ed and Harold Runion, a sister Phyllis Crago and a stepsister Beverly Huntley.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Faith Lutheran Church, 3416 E. 900 N., Roanoke, IN 46783. A Memorial Service will follow immediately at 3:00 p.m., also at Faith Lutheran Church.
Private interment will follow at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made Faith Lutheran Church Landscaping Fund or Lutheran Life Villages, Pine Valley in care of McElhaney Funeral Home – Roanoke Chapel, 240 Crestwood Drive, Roanoke, IN, 46783.
