David Schaefer Obituary
He was born on March 15, 1959, in Louisville to the late Charles John Schaefer and Roberta Sullivan Schaefer.
He worked as a supervisor in the engineering department for U of L Health for over 37 years, was a member of the Elk's Lodge, and was a lifelong U of K fan.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert "Bob" Schaefer; nephew, Alan D. Schneider; and brother-in-law, Tom Fisher.
He is survived by his former wife and dearest friend, Bev Schaefer; sons, Robby and Bradley Schaefer; siblings, Sharon Fisher, Nancy Frandsen (Walt), Gary Schaefer (Susie), and Doris Schneider (Charlie); sister-in-law, Sandy Schaefer; best friend, Paul Norton (Vicky); all of his coworkers in the engineering department; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other loving family members and friends.
His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home 3800 Bardstown Road with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Thursday.
