David Scheibelhut Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Palmer Funeral Homes - Bubb Chapel on Apr. 25, 2025.
David A. Scheibelhut, known affectionately as Dave by friends and family, departed this earthly life at the age of 72 on April 19, 2025, in his hometown of Mishawaka, IN. Born on March 21, 1953, to the late Richard and Dorothy (Radican) Scheibelhut, Dave's early years established a foundation of warmth and understanding that would define his life.
Dave was a proud graduate of Mishawaka Marian High School, class of 1971, and furthered his education at Indiana University South Bend, attaining his bachelor's degree in economics. His academic foundations paved the way for a lifelong career as a respected carpenter for local union 413, where his skillful hands and diligent work ethic were held in high esteem for over three decades. David received several awards including an award for his high scholastic achievement in the field of economics from the Omicron Delta Epsilon and became a member of the Theta Chapter of Indiana. He also received an award from the City of Mishawaka recognizing him as the student body president of IUSB for the years of 1976-1977.
Beyond his professional work, Dave was known for his love of the outdoors, particularly for fishing. The tranquility of the water and the thrill of the catch, especially when it came to walleye, was a source of endless joy for him. His gentle spirit and patient demeanor made him a cherished companion on any fishing excursion.
Dave's memory lives on through his family: his loving sister Suzanne Scheibelhut; brother-in-law Ray Ingle; sister-in-law Debra Scheibelhut; alongside his brothers Thomas (Terryanne) Scheibelhut and Greg (Sue) Scheibelhut. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Barbara Jo Ingle, and brother Mark Scheibelhut.
Per the families wishes no services will take place at this time. Palmer Funeral Home – Bubb Chapel will be assisting the family with final arrangements.
