David Leon Schooler, age 83, of Corbin, KY, passed away at home on Monday, May 26, 2025.

Born in Clairfield, TN, he was the son of the late Clarence Virgil and Mary Belle Schooler. A dedicated family man, David's love for his family was as expansive as his sense of humor was infectious. He lived life with a radiant smile and a witty comment always at the ready, making every room he entered a little brighter.

David was a man of many talents, with a passion for sports and a gift for coaching. Whether it was a Little League baseball game or an Optimus Basketball game, his dedication and commitment were palpable. He found joy in every swing of a golf club, the tug of a fishing rod, and the laughter of children playing backyard sports during the off-season. His love for these pastimes was only matched by his love for his family, with whom he delighted in sharing these moments.

A veteran of the United States Army, David served during the Vietnam War and was stationed at Ft Knox. He held various sales jobs, from Sears to insurance, showcasing his dedication and work ethic in every role he undertook. Despite his many accomplishments, what mattered most to David was his family and the love they shared.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Arlie Schooler, Lonnie Dell Schooler, and Kenneth Schooler.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Norris Schooler; children, Tim Schooler (Emma), LeAnn Sizemore (Mike), and Julie Dees (Jon), all of London, KY; grandchildren, Chandler Mosley, Davie Smith, Adleigh Schooler, Nikkie Eddajibi (Youssef), and Shayann Messer (Daniel); great grandchildren, Brayson Watts, Tayton Watts, Ryann Watts, and Hudson Messer; and his sisters, Sue Lane (Dennis) of Harrogate, TN, and Debra Brock (the late Rick) of Beaufort, SC.

In accordance with David’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and no formal services will be held. The family appreciates your thoughts and kindness during this time of remembrance.
