Mark Stephen Collins, age 68, of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Baptist Health in Louisville, Kentucky.

Born on August 10, 1957, in Mann, Logan County, West Virginia, he left a lasting impression on all who knew him. His love for life, his relentless faith, and his dedication to his community will be forever remembered. Mark was a beacon of light, radiating warmth, kindness, and love. Mark married his wife, Marquetta Caldwell, on October 27, 2001.

Mark lived in Norwood, Ohio, and worked at L & B Foster until he moved to Corbin in 1989. But Mark's love for life extended beyond his work. He was an avid traveler and loved to fish with his fishing buddy, Ernie Thompson. His passion for angling led him to become a member of the Bass'n Baptist Fishing Club (Fishers of Men), but most of all, Mark loved the Lord. He was a council member and faithful servant at this church, Eastside Tabernacle Church of God in Corbin, and he belonged to the "Men of 830 Bible study" at Poplar Grove Baptist Church.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Collins and Goldie Whitlock Collins; five brothers, Chuck Collins, Terry Collins, Larry Collins, Tim Collins, and Tom Collins; and by a stepbrother, Scottie Collins.

He is survived by his wife, Marquetta Caldwell Collins; son, Mark Jason Collins and wife, Ashley of Williamsburg; daughter, Alicia Collins Malone and husband Cory of Greenville, TN; grandson, Ean Collins; granddaughter, Cora Mae Malone; brother, Rob Collins of Alexandria, KY; and by many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation for Mark will be held from 12noon until 2 pm on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, 607 Master Street, Corbin, KY, where his funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm with Rev. Ryan Wells officiating.

Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Lily, Kentucky.

Mark had a humble and sweet spirit, and he was loved by all. He will be missed. Messages may be written to the family at vankirkgrisellfuneralhome.com
