Blissfield – David L. Seegert, age 83, of Blissfield, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Hampton Manor Assisted Living in Dundee, Michigan. He was born February 4, 1940, in Blissfield, Michigan to Leo and Joann (Lamley) Seegert. On November 2, 1957, he married Nedra Buehrer and she survives. David worked as a truck driver with Kuhlman Concrete, retiring in 1996. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Blissfield. He enjoyed wood working, stain glass, and was a carpenter. David converted the Wilcox School house, that his wife and daughter had attended, into the family home. He was very proud of the 1929 Model T Ford truck that he restored. David enjoyed hunting and was a "avid" antique book collector.
In addition to his wife, Nedra, David is survived by his son, Dave (Debbie) Seegert of Northville, MI; daughters JoAnn (Ron) Stoker of Beverly Hills, MI, Renee (Keith) Seegert of Ottawa Lake, MI, Brenda (Dave) Seegert of Manitou Beach, MI and Peggy (Wayne) Slusarski of Beverly Hills, FL; brothers Mike Seegert of Blissfield, MI and Paul (Jan) Seegert of Quincy, MI; sisters Linda (Dave) Caterina of Johnston, OH and Susan (Ken) Cadorette of Grand Rapids, MI; grandchildren Levi, Jacob, Christiana, Brandy, Christy, Michael, Dane, Calvin, Dexter and Tyler; and 6 great grandchildren. He is preceded by his parents; a son, Michael Douglas Seegert; and bothers Charles and Delano Seegert.
Visitation for David will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Anderson-Rudd Funeral Home, Blissfield from 11:00 to 1:00 pm. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Blissfield. To view David's service, please click here.
