David Eugene Serger, 84, passed away Monday, June 30, 2025 at the Galeon Senior Living Facility in Osakis, MN.
David was born on March 5, 1941 at his grandpa Serger’s Farm near Watkins, MN. He was baptized on March 23, 1941, at St. Anne Catholic Church in Kimball, MN. His Godparents were Rosella and Mike Serger. The family moved to Osakis in 1942, where David lived for the next 83 years. He attended the Osakis Public School where he graduated in the Spring of 1961.
David worked at the Osakis Silo Company for 33 years. After that he worked at the Osakis Community Center serving meals to Seniors for a few years.
David loved baseball, his favorite team was the New York Yankees. He could talk about baseball and the Yankees for hours. He knew all the players stats, all their wins and losses. He also enjoyed Irish and Big Band music.
David is survived by his sister, Susan (Courtney) Shy of Detroit, MI, nieces: Janice and Angela Shy, Christine (Dalante) Lee, 2 grandnephews: Jordan Dawson and Canden Johnson; 4 grandnieces: Destiny, Trinity and Charity Lee and Affinity Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Inez Serger; brothers: Jerry, Jerome and Dale; sister, Joann.
Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Osakis.
