David Shelton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brown Funeral Directors - Brown's Chapel of the Fountains on Mar. 4, 2026.
David Shelton passed away surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind a legacy of service, patriotism, humor, and unwavering devotion to his family and community.

David was a proud father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his daughters, Deidre Tice(Brandon Tice), Alexis Beck (Brian Beck), and Candace Martens(Joey Martens); his cherished grandchildren, Reilly Tice (Gabe Smith), Addison Tucker (Jon Carl Tucker), Aubrey Beck, Elyse Beck, Brady Beck, Jake Martens, and Sadie Martens; and his sisters, Donna and Martha.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Joann Clepper; her husband, Ted Clepper; and his stepfather, Red Shelton.

David devoted many years to serving the community he loved. He volunteered with Stinnett Little League, Hutchinson County Junior Livestock Association, Rattler Alumni Association, and Stinnett Volunteer EMS. He believed in showing up, lending a hand, and investing in the next generation. Whether it was youth sports, livestock shows, alumni events, or answering an emergency call, David was there.

To honor David's memory, his family encourages you to:

Sing the National Anthem while standing in the bed of a truck on the Fourth of July.
Pay for a child to play youth sports.
Go to bed when it's decently dark.
Watch women's sports - especially college softball.
Be good to people, but know when to hold a grudge.

Family will receive friends at Brown's Chapel of the Fountains, 206 W. 1st, Friday, March 6, 2026, from 5-7pm.

Services will be Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 1:00 pm, at Brown's Chapel of the Fountains, with Alton Cheatwood officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to:
Rattler Alumni Association
