Rudy G. Thomas

Rudy G. Thomas, 62, of Borger, passed away January 7, 2026, in Corpus Christi.

He was born on November 11, 1963, and was the son of Jack and Dorothy Winters.

He grew up in Phillips, Texas, graduating from Phillips High School in 1982. A gifted athlete, he excelled in every sport he played and was admired for both his talent and character.

He owned and operated CBT Oil and spent many years as a consultant with MLB Consulting. He was a working resident of Stanley, North Dakota, where he was admired and respected by all he worked with. A man of many interests, he loved to travel and was a licensed pilot, avid deep-sea fisherman, and passionate photographer. He traveled as far as Bosnia, as well as New York, and Washington D.C. He was a resident of many places including Dallas, Lake Texoma, and Alaska.

He was part owner of Bakir Vision Films and helped produce Forgotten Valor, reflecting his deep advocacy for homeless veterans. In Cabo San Lucas, he was a familiar face at The Usual Suspects, where friendships came easily. Cabo is what he described as "a place where my soul can find peace". His ashes will be spread on his favorite mountain as he wished, in Cabo.

Though big in stature, he was even bigger in heart. Know by many as Big Rudy the Gentle Giant. He will be remembered for his kindness, adventurous spirit, and the lasting impact he made on all who knew him. He never knew a stranger and often struggled to say no to anyone. He loved his steaks, however no one cooked them quite like he could.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Jeane Spencer, brothers, Jackie Winters, Gary Dale Winters and Jerry Thomas, a beloved nephew, Bryan Tracy and a brother-in-law, Steve Willis. We can find peace in knowing he was met at heavens gates with open arms.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Leslie Thomas DeMarr and her husband, Keith, of Borger, a granddaughter, Lynley Rivers, a beloved niece, Shelley Tracy-Wise and her husband Jim, of Borger, a brother, Randy Thomas, of Amarillo, Sisters, Terri Willis, of Borger, Melissa Black, of Hereford, and Wendy Roberts, of Sullivan, MO, and many other nieces and nephews and friends.

Memorial service will be 3:00 PM, Monday, January 26, 2026 at Brown's Chapel of the Fountains, 206 W. 1st, Borger
