Barbara Stover passed from this life peacefully on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 5:14 PM at the age of 88.

Barbara was gifted in many ways. She was an accomplished artist and taught oil painting classes for 34 years. Her paintings were displayed in many local businesses. She was an active member of the Stinnett Church of Christ where she taught Bible classes through the years. She was an avid Bible scholar and well-versed in scripture. She was an expert seamstress and sewed both for her family and the public. She had a beautiful Alto voice and loved to sing.

She was born on January 7, 1938, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, to Edd and Trude Pattillo. She spent her school years in both Oklahoma and Borger until she moved to Stinnett in 1955. She spent her senior year at Stinnett High School and graduated in the class of 1956. During her senior year, she met her lifelong love, John Stover. They were married on June 28, 1956. They were married for 67 years until his death on July 4, 2023.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Edd and Trude Patillo, five brothers and six sisters, and her husband, John Stover Jr.

She is survived by her children, Loretta Fisher, Becky Barnett, and Gary Stover, all of Borger, her grandchildren, James Andrew Fisher and wife Sarah of Waco, Christy Barney and husband Norman of Borger, Abbe Barnett and Kip Bradley of Amarillo, Nick Stover and partner Lauren Lopez, of Borger, Denae McWilliams and husband Max, of Borger, her great grandchildren, Patrick Barney, Ryan Barney, Kaden Stover, Cody Stover, John David Stover, and great-great-grandchildren, Grayson Stover, Gentreigh Stover and Hudson Barney, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as many brothers and sisters of the Stinnett Church of Christ. She also leaves her beloved fur baby, Sassy.

Visitation will be on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 5-7 PM, at Brown's Chapel of the Fountains in Borger, Texas.

Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at the Stinnett Cemetery with Rick Ball officiating.
