David Lee Shurn, Sr., the son of the late Albert Lee Shurn and Isabella Smith Jobe, was born March 8, 1940, in Caledonia, MS.
On June 19, 1981, in Malden, MO he was united in Holy Matrimony to Barbara Ann Bell. She survives.
He was a member of the Zion Grove Church of Malden, MO.
Mr. Shurn died Thursday, October 17, 2024, at his residence in Malden, at the age of 84 years, 7 months and 9 days.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Shurn; 4 sons, Dennis Shurn, David Shurn, Jr., Robert Anderson and Emmett Anderson; 10 daughters, Sarah Bridgeford, Patricia McNeal, Betty Wright, Kim Shurn, Tameika Shurn, Tiffany Shurn, Alkeisha Shurn, Carolyn Smith, Octavia Townes and Angela Anderson; several grandchildren; great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Brittany Shurn and Rochelle Anderson; 2 sisters, Mattie Ayers and Dora White and 1 nephew, Louis Shurn.
A visitation will be held at 12:00 P.M., Friday, October 25, 2024, at the Community Center in Malden. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor William Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Macedonia Cemetery in Malden, MO.
