David Ray Sitzes, 96, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2025, at John J. Pershing Veterans Hospital in Poplar Bluff, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born July 13, 1929, in Morehouse, Missouri to Ray Sitze and Clara (Stilts) Sitzes. On December 25, 1949, David married the love of his life Imogene Lambert.

He was a long-time resident of Poplar Bluff. David enjoyed spending time with his family, going fishing and camping, taking care of his home, watching college basketball, football, and baseball especially the St. Louis Cardinals.

David is survived by three daughters, Patricia (Bruce) Peterson, Barbara (Bruce) Haeffle, and Debborah (Todd) Mushany; one son David Sitzes, one brother, Charlie Sitzes, one sister, Lily Griffin; nine grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Sites, and his parents, Ray and Clara Sitzes. A host of family and friends survive.

Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home is assisting with all arrangements.
