David A. Slaby, 72, Marshfield, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Marshfield Medical Center.
No formal services will be held at this time.
David was born on March 16, 1952 in Arcadia, Wisconsin to Rufus and Bernice (Haines) Slaby.
He was united in marriage to Jacqueline Francis on June 6, 1970 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Loyal WI.
David worked tirelessly and selflessly his entire adult life to provide for those he loved most. Most recently David started his own business with spray foam insulation.
David's greatest joy came from spending time with his family. There was nothing that he loved more than his wife, children and grandchildren. He also took great pride in giving of his time and finances to help those in his community who were less fortunate. He and his wife Jackie were very proud of their efforts to open and operate a food pantry that supplied timely support to families in need.
He is survived by his wife Jacqueline, son Todd (Katie) Slaby of Chetek, daughter Kelly (Johnny) Mathis of Marshfield, son Jason (Jen) Slaby of Marshfield. Grandchildren, Makayla, Brianna, Olive, Nathan and Alissa. And his most precious addition is his great grandchild Davina.
He is further survived by (Doris (sister), Dale (brother), Diane (sister) and their spouses.
He was preceded in death by his parents Rufus and Bernice Slaby and his brothers Ronald and Daniel Slaby.

I'm so very sorry to hear of the great loss of such a kind man. My son and I, Gavin lived across the street from David and Jackie, Gavin grew up playing with their grandkids and I will always remember on summer days seeing the family enjoying themselves on the front porch! We moved away but never forgot such wonderful neighbors, nothing can be said to soothe your grieving hearts but hoping comfort will come in knowing he is surely in the arms of God; Many thoughts and prayers Kim and Gavin
