David Eugene Smith II, was born on February 15, 1967, in Sumter, South Carolina, to his proud parents David Eugene 'Gene' Smith and Amelia 'Faye' Smith. Passed away peacefully on, Saturday, March 30, 2024, in Ocean Springs, MS, leaving a profound void in the hearts of his family and friends.

David led a remarkable life filled with dedication and passion. He pursued his education diligently and graduated from St. Martin High School's Class of 1985. Subsequently, he obtained his associate in computer science from MGCC. His thirst for knowledge and excellence shone brightly throughout his academic journey.

In addition to his academic achievements, he selflessly served his country as a Veteran of the US Air Force. During his time in the Air Force from 1986 to 1990, he excelled as a communication operation technician. His commitment to service extended further as he dedicated 14 years of his life to the Air National Guard, embodying the values of duty and honor.

Professionally, David thrived as an IT manager specialist at various prestigious institutions including the Jackson Heart Clinic, Dr. Baroudi in Gulfport, and the Raytheon Corporation. His expertise and work ethic left an indelible mark on all those he worked with.

Beyond his professional life, David found joy and fulfillment in various hobbies and interests. He shared his love for music as a sound technician for a band in Korea during his stationing there. Moreover, he contributed his talents to the Roxy Theater in Newton, MS by managing sound and lights before returning to the coast in 2021.

David's warm personality and genuine kindness endeared him to many. His memory will be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him. Among them are his mother Amelia 'Faye' Smith, his sister and brother-in-law Sandy and Mike Pennington, his brother and sister-in-law Aaron and Ashley Smith, nephew Hayden Tisdale, niece Alyssa Smith, as well as close friends Kathy and Randall Benson and several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.

He is preceded in death by his father David Eugene 'Gene' Smith.

In our hearts forever, David's spirit will continue to inspire us with memories of his kindness and unwavering dedication. May he rest in eternal peace knowing that he was loved and respected by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
