David Smith Obituary
He was born September 25, 1947 in Ozark, Missouri the son of the late Emmett Ollion "Dick" and Irene Elizabeth (Limbaugh) Smith. He was united in marriage on August 21, 1965 to A. Mae Ferguson. He was also proceeded in death by his daughter, Sonya Smith McFall, his granddaughter, Elizabeth Sue Lawson, a grandson, John Wayne Lawson, and his brother, Donald O. Smith.
David was a custodian and bus driver for over 45 years with the Logan-Rogersville School District. He was a member of Rogersville First Baptist Church for 44 years and was currently attending Amazing Grace Fellowship Church in Springfield. He was a 55 year member of both Henderson Lodge No. 477 and Abou Ben Adhem Shrine Temple. He was wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mae; a daughter, Tanya Lawson and her husband John; three grandchildren, David Ray Smith, Lashelle Smith, and Marisakae McFall; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm, Saturday, December 7, 2024, with funeral and masonic services following at 12:00 pm at J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home, Rogersville. Burial will follow at Smith Cemetery, Rogersville.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
