David was born October 25, 1951 in Titusville, PA to Marion Burgerson. He loved his family especially his grandchildren. David loved to fish, camp, wrestling, and car shows.
He was preceded in death by his mother; brother, Bob; granddaughter, Ravyn.
David is survived by his wife, Vickie Smith; sons: David Smith Jr., John (Jill) Smith, James (Abby) Smith, and Joe (Deborah) Smith; daughters, Paula Smith and Joyce (Reuben) Ray; brother, Tom Smith; 19 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at Mound City National Cemetery – Mound City, Illinois at a later date.
