He was born in Staten Island, NY on December 18, 1937, and was the son of the late Kilian James and Catherine Blanche (Barnes) Sneden.
He received a Bachelor's in Engineering from Wagner College and a Master's in Physics from Northeastern University. After his marriage to Carol in 1960, they moved to Massachusetts where he was employed by Raytheon. He and his wife twice lived overseas on Kwajalein, Marshall Islands, in the 1970s and 1990s, where he worked as a systems engineer. He retired from Raytheon in 1997.
He enjoyed vacationing in Aruba and Lake Winnipesaukee, as well as skiing and playing tennis. Locally, he coached youth basketball and swimming, was a member of the Chelmsford Republican Club, and enjoyed playing bridge at the Chelmsford Senior Center. He was an enthusiastic supporter of UMass Lowell baseball, Bryant University football, and Chelmsford High School sports, especially while watching all his grandsons playing their various sports. He was also an active member of All Saints' Episcopal Church since 1960, often serving as an usher.
He is survived by his daughter Carol Anne Olive of Methuen, his son David N. Sneden of Chelmsford, and his grandsons, Russell and Stephen Olive and Nicholas and Joshua Sneden. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his brother Kilian J. Sneden.

Dave and I spent many days at our lakefront in Maine. He would swim for hundreds of yards while I followed him in a boat. We watched many sports games on TV and attended many high school games in all weather. He was a fine man and a great friend. Rest in Peace my friend.

At the Chelmsford Senior center, I had the privledge of having Dave as a bridge opponent. He was an very good bridge player and most impressively he was flexible with different player's conventions and he knew where all the cards were. I also knew he was kind and thoughtful to other players by offering to help with rides and food distribution. He presented an individual minded exterior, but was really a King of Hearts.
