David Andrew Snell, 73, of Thacker, WV, passed away on Wednesday evening, November 12, 2025, while an inpatient in the Tug Valley ARH Regional Medical Center Skilled Nursing facility. Born on November 12, 1952, in Thacker, WV, David was a beloved son of the late Roy William Snell and Ruth Alderson Snell. David spent his life in the community he loved, leaving a legacy of hard work and dedication.

In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his daughter, Lydia "Ginger" Asbury, and grandsons, Andrew Asbury and Ryan Dotson, brothers, Wayne, Jimmy, Eddie, and Robert Snell, and sisters Yvonne Hurley, June Miller, Diane Murphy, and Janet Blankenship, as well as his special brother-in-law, Junior Cook.

David delighted in life's simple pleasures; He was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan who loved a good night of Bingo with his wife, Darlene. A born jokester, David had a gift for turning ordinary days into something to smile about, often making others laugh without even trying. His kindness ran deep, and his easy humor could brighten any room-whether with a quick joke, a funny story, or that signature little grin that made everything feel lighter. David never needed grand gestures to make a difference; just his presence made family gatherings more fun and simple moments truly special. He also loved to listen to country music, with Elvis among his favorites, and spent many hours watching western, like Gunsmoke.

David was a devoted husband to Darlene Snell, with whom he shared 52 wonderful years. He was a loving father to his daughters: Andreana Darlene "DA" Dotson and her husband Tim of North Matewan, WV; Monica Renee Hutcheson and her husband Brian of Matewan, WV; Rebecca Lynn Johnson and her husband Brian of Jenkins, KY; and Pamela Nicole Hinkle and her husband Ronnie of Matewan, WV. He is also survived by his son-in-law, Walter Asbury of Ohio.

He is also survived by his brothers Hassell Snell of IL, Richard Snell of GA, Michael Snell of NC, Grover Snell of FL, and Ronnie Snell of IL. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Kaytee Asbury, Austin Asbury, Trey Dotson, Haleigh Dotson, Briana Roberson, Megan Roberson, Cody Snell, Noah Fleming, Kaylyn Fleming, Braydyn Fleming, Kyra Boggs, Laikyn Hinkle, and Garon Hinkle, as well as his great-grandchildren: Jakobe Rodriguez, Elydia Bland, Elaina Asbury, Waylon Dotson, Ava Roberson, Gunner Roberson, Liberty Roberson, Tate Boggs, Maddox Boggs, and Presley Snell. He is also survived by his special friend and neighbor, Mark.

On David's behalf, instead of Goodbye… let's just say "Toodaloo".

The family will begin receiving friends in the Chambers Funeral Services Chapel on Saturday November 15, 2025 with visitation from 6:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m.

Honoring Services will be held in the Chambers chapel on Sunday November 16, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mitchell Bias officiating. Burial will then follow in the Timothy Ryan Dotson Memorial Cemetery of North Matewan, WV, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
