SPENCE, David, passed away on April 10, 2025 at home surrounded by the love of his family at the age of 74. He was born in Cincinnati, OH, the son of the late Caberd and Stella (nee Spegal) Spence.
David spent the majority of his career working for Queen City Metro until he retired and spent the next 28 years doing the things he loved most - babysitting his grandsons, traveling with his wife, going to the casino, watching the Reds, fishing, and playing poker with his friends.
David will be remembered for his unwavering devotion, loyalty, and love for his family and friends, his comedic timing, his ability to entertain a crowd and his never-ending positive attitude.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Joyce Spence (nee Ward) and his loving daughter Stella (Elliott) Bavely. He is the beloved Pappa of David (Nora Burns) Spence, Tim Benjamin, and Will Bavely. He is also survived by his dear sister Barbara (Ted) Helmes and Rebecca (Larry) Gibson along with many family members and friends.
David is preceded in death by his siblings Mabel (Mike) Jordan, Hilda (L.G.) Florence, Nancy (Gene) Brandenburg, Joyce (Jim Stewart) Jones, and Opal (Gloria) Spence.
