David Lee Standafer

STANDAFER, David L., age 63, of Taylor, November 20, 2023. Beloved husband of Susan Standafer. Loving father of Allison (Andrew) Lemerand and Emily (Joshua) Geldersma. Dearest grandfather of Maverick, Nova, and Jordanna. He is survived by his siblings Michael (Lou) Standafer, Deborah (Rob) Desrosiers, Gregory (Elizabeth) Standafer, and Timothy (Sandra) Standafer. He is preceded in death by his parents Marion and Evelyn Standafer, sister Susan Moore, and his grandson Easton Zane Lemerand. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Karmanos Pancreatic Cancer.
"He was a great husband, father, and papa! He would do everything and anything for his family, no matter the sacrifice. And he loved taking vacations! They went on family vacations every year while the girls were growing up. David and his wife have been on 9 cruises together, as well!
David was the best provider for his family. He worked for the same company for 36 years, hardly missing a day of work.
Music was his passion in life. He taught himself to play guitar at 17 and was in a band in his younger years. Since then, he's been the best solo artist and always entertained the family with his beautiful voice and guitar strumming. He enjoyed getting new guitars and has an amazing collection. He loved the 60s and 70s music era, but was a huge fan of the Beatles and the Kinks.
David had been a baseball fan his entire life. He shared that love with his daughters and was their softball coach for 10 years and was at every high school game, even when he was tired from working midnights. He loved going to Tiger's games, as well.
He was a major history buff and could recite the whole Declaration of Independence. He knew every Jeopardy answer and won every board game he played.
He had many hobbies and passions but, most of all, he loved his family. And he made sure they knew it every day.
He's a great loss to the family and will be deeply missed by all."
