David Stanford Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lewis Funeral Chapel - Fort Smith on Dec. 12, 2025.
David Wayne Stanford, Age 61, passed away peacefully in his home in Mulberry, Arkansas on Friday, December 12, 2025. He was born on May 31, 1964, in Hugo, Oklahoma to Hulan Edward Stanford and Betty Jane (Reynolds) Stanford.

David married the love of his life, Carrole (Hawkins) Stanford, on February 14, 1983, in Poteau, Oklahoma, and together they shared 42 wonderful years of marriage. For four decades, David worked tirelessly as a truck driver, providing for his family with dedication and pride. In his free time, David found joy in tending to his chickens and guineas, and he especially loved spending time with his family-most of all, his grandchildren. He cherished any opportunity to gather with loved ones, often grilling and enjoying fellowship with family and friends. David will be remembered as a devoted Husband, father and grandfather, and as a man with a generous heart who would help anyone in need. His kindness, love, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife Carrole Stanford; his two children, Amanda Standifer and husband Mark, Matthew Stanford; four grandchildren, Angel, Liza, Olivia, Rebecca; two sisters, Brenda Foster and Leata Starkey; three brothers, Jimmy, Joe, and Rodney Stanford, as well as a close friend, Russell Hawkins.

David is preceded in passing by his parents, Hulan Edward Stanford and Betty Jane (Reynolds) Stanford; as well as his three siblings, Carolyn, Bobby, and Eddie.
