David F. Steiskal, age 74 of Brooklyn Park, passed away on 11/1. Preceded in death by his parents George and Ruby plus his brother Darryl. Survived by wife Marlys Carls-Steiskal, 3 younger brothers, Don, Doug and Dan; sister-in law, Joane; and his second love, his dogs, Mikie, Vermont and Montana.

David worked as a draftsman for Catinia builders when he was young, then Harmon Contract, then Copper Sales and finally found the job he loved working at Cabinets Unlimited in Rockford MN. He loved working with wood and excelled at building furniture, cabinets, tables and most anything someone needed built. In his younger days he worked on ice racing cars, delivered canoes in northern Wisconsin. David treasured the time he could spend on the ranch in Montana and hunt white tail. Fishing in Canada was a real joy for him and Marlys.Traveling the RV was also a joy.He was the type of RV driver that if he saw that there were a line up of carsbehind him, he would pull over and let them go by.

Visitation from 6-9PM Wed, 11/9 at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 6000 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Center. Memorial Service 11AM Thurs, 11/10 at Brooklyn United Methodist, 7200 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Center with visitation starting 1 hour prior to the service at church. Private family interment.
