Joseph A. Steiskal Sr.
Age 75, of Lockport passed away peacefully at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox on Thursday, February 5, 2026, with his family by his side. Born in Chicago, raised in Oak Lawn, and a resident of Lockport since 1985. Retired from Electromotive in 1999 where he was a dedicated employee for 31 years. Joseph was a very devoted family man who found so much joy in spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Betty (nee Durga) Steiskal; siblings, James Steiskal, Betty (late Frank) Baur, Mary (late Ray) Demith, Robert (late Martha) Steiskal, Frank (Marlene) Steiskal, Alice (late Jerry) Wright, Barbara (late Dennis) Sikora, and Richard (late Patricia) Steiskal.
Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Sally (nee Schmidt) Steiskal; three cherished children, Joseph Jr. (Holly) Steiskal, Michael (Kristin) Steiskal, and Daniel (Ashley) Steiskal; adored grandchildren, Joseph III, Jake (Justine), Ryan , Luke, Mya, Alayna, Leo, Ethan and Emma Steiskal; his sister, Dorothy (Chuck) Olson; and numerous nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, in the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel 1105 E. 9th St. Lockport, IL 60441 from 4:00pm until time of Funeral Service at 7:00pm. Following services Cremation Rites will be respectfully addressed.
