David "Dave" L. Swiatkowski Sr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on August 23, 2025. Born on August 5, 1938, in Flint, Michigan, to Stanley J. and Alice M. (Alexander) Swiatkowski, Dave was a man whose vibrant spirit and zest for life left an indelible mark on all who knew him as "Pops"

Dave was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Kathleen J. Ketzler, whom he married on August 8, 1957, at her parents' home in Flint, Michigan. Their love story spanned an incredible 68 years, during which he affectionately called her his "honey love KJS." Together, they built a family foundation of love and laughter that included their children, Kelly (Mike) Warner and David (Laurie) Swiatkowski, seven grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren. Though he was preceded in death by his daughter Kim Swiatkowski, his great-grandson Vinnie DeRocco, and his great grandson-in-law Brad Lennox, Dave's legacy of love continues to thrive through his family.

A proud graduate of Flint High School, Dave was a man of many talents and entrepreneurial spirit. He was the owner and operator of D&K Mini Storage in Gladwin and Dave's Carpet Service in both Flint and Gladwin. His work ethic and commitment to his community were evident in the success of his businesses and the respect he garnered from his peers.

Dave's interests were as varied and colorful as his personality. He had a need for speed, whether behind the wheel of a car or at the helm of a boat. An avid collector, he took pride in his gun collection and was always ready for deer hunting season, whether with a bow or rifle. His love for boating, music, especially Pink Floyd, classic cars, and woodworking were matched only by his joy in spending time with his family, grandchildren, the Amish community, longtime friends, and the Fenton Road gang.

To describe Dave as loving, adventurous, and creative only scratches the surface of the man he was. His infectious laughter, boundless energy, and willingness to lend a hand are traits that will be fondly remembered by all. Dave Swiatkowski Sr. lived a full life, one that was rich in experiences and relationships. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him, but his spirit will continue to guide and inspire them every day.

As we bid farewell to Dave, we will celebrate a life well-lived at a later date, cremation has taken place.
