Sharon Graves Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lee-Ramsay - Gladwin Chapel on Feb. 11, 2026.
Sharon Kaye (Bentley) Graves, a cherished soul whose warmth and creativity touched the lives of many, passed away peacefully at her home on February 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 16, 1943, in Beaverton, Michigan, to the late Manley and Gladys (Lambert) Bentley, Sharon's life was a tapestry of love, family, and artistic expression.

Sharon's journey began in the small town of Beaverton, where she grew up with her siblings, forming bonds that would last a lifetime. She was the beloved sister of Wayne Bentley, Michelle (Fred) Still, Jean Bentley, and was preceded in death by her siblings Ron (Florence) Bentley, Onallee (Victor) Johnson, and Mike (Tammy) Bentley. Her childhood was filled with the simple joys of country living, which laid the foundation for her lifelong love of nature and the comfort of home.

On October 5, 1959, in Gladwin, Sharon married William Graves, he preceded her in death on July 14, 2016, he was the love of her life. Their union was blessed with four wonderful children: Kristi (Rick) Graves-Sampson, Barry (Judy) Graves, David (Wenona) Graves, and Kimberly (Dan) Graves-Albergo. Sharon's role as a mother was one she cherished deeply, and she instilled in her children the values of love, kindness, and creativity. Her legacy continues to flourish through her six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy and pride to her life.

Sharon's passion for sewing, particularly quilting, was more than a hobby; it was a way of connecting with others and sharing her talents. Her quilts were not just blankets; they were stories woven from fabric, each stitch a testament to her patience and artistry. Her love for reading allowed her to travel to worlds beyond her own, while her affection for old-style country music kept her connected to her roots.

Known for her loving and friendly nature, Sharon never met a stranger. Her creative spirit was evident in everything she did, from the meals she prepared with love to the beautiful gardens she tended with care. She had a special place in her heart for her fur babies, with whom she shared countless snuggles and moments of comfort.

As we remember Sharon, we are reminded of her gentle spirit and the light she brought into our lives. She was a beacon of love and friendship, a creative soul who inspired us to see beauty in the everyday. Another angel has been given wings, and while we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the remarkable life she lived.

Sharon's memory will be cherished by her many nieces, nephews, and a dear friend who stood by her side through the years. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but the love she shared will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew her. Sharon Kaye (Bentley) Graves was a remarkable woman, and her story-one of love, family, and creativity-will be told for generations to come.

Missing you with every breath Momma. Your fur babies are missing Grammy's warm snuggly naps too. We love you beyond the moon and stars and cherish every moment we were privileged enough to have you in our lives and in our home. Love, hugs and kisses to you always.
