David Marshall Tatham, 75, of Jacksonville AL, entered his eternal rest in the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 14,2025. David was surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 22, 1949, in Andrews, North Carolina, to Marshall and Juanita Tatham. David devoted his life to faith, family, and service to others. He accepted Christ as his Savior and never wavered in his trust in God's promises. David faithfully served as a member and Deacon at Webster Chapel Baptist Church. In younger years, he served as the youth group leader and was always lending his hands to every need for as long as he was able. David's life was a testimony of God's love-he was a man of prayer, a servant at heart, and a friend to all. Throughout his lifetime, David experienced many achievements and joys. He graduated from Lake City Junior College with a degree in Agriculture in 1972 and always found joy in landscaping and gardening. David also had a passion for pigeon shows and racing. In 2004, he won the Tri-City Bantam Association's Best in Show award, along with first place at the NPA Grand National Pigeon Racing Show that same year. In his younger days, he loved spending time at the beach, painting, surfing, and golfing. Above all, David's greatest joy came from studying God's Word, worshiping with his church family, and sharing with others the hope that is found in Jesus. He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Elaine Roper Tatham; children Brittney Taylor (Wynema) and Courtney Denham (Byron); Chosen Daughter; Jayne Carrasquillo, three grandchildren; Haley Taylor, Bo Taylor (Brianna), Ethan Denham (Meigan); Chosen granddaughter; Tattum Denham, two great-grandchildren; Harper Leftwich and Becca Leftwich who knew him as "Pawpaw"; his sister, Marilynn Adams (Bill), brother, Mike Tatham (Betty). He is also survived by brother-in-law, Dwight Roper (Vicki), David Roper (Karen). Along with several nieces and nephews. He is now reunited in Heaven with his parents, Marshall and Juanita Tatham. A celebration of David's life and faith will be held at Webster Chapel Baptist Church on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Webster Chapel Baptist Church, so that David's spirit of generosity and compassion may continue to bless others. Though we mourn his passing, we rejoice in knowing David has heard the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant" (Matthew 25:23). Lunch to be served immediately for everyone in the fellowship hall following the service.
