David Milton Thompson

David Milton Thompson, 77, Albany, Ohio, passed away at home on Wednesday February 25th, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Charlotte Lee Rankin Thompson, children David Matthew Thompson, Amber Lee Spencer and Joshua Michael (Jen) Nalle; six grandchildren, who lit up his world, Carson, Sophia, Mackenzie, Elliott, Brianna and Lauren.
David is also survived by his six siblings, known as the prankster, he loved them all deeply. Melvin (Daphne) Thompson, Terry (Linda) Thompson, Brenda (Sonny) Wadsworth, Jeannie (Don) Fulkerson, Daniel Thompson, Trisha (Steve) Dupler, and many, many, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Betty Thompson, daughter Tina Marie Rosetti and son Daniel Milton Thompson.

David was a Vietnam Veteran, he worked for the Athens Police Department, Bassett House, full time for the Ohio National Guard of McConnelsville and retiring from the Defense Supply Center Columbus as a Federal Police Officer. David dedicated his life to his country and helping children. He loved hiking, canoeing, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family- especially the grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday February 28th, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home, with Pastor Joe Robinson officiating. Visitation will be 12-2:00 P.M. prior to services. Military Services will follow services by Albany VFW Post 9893 and K.T.Crossen Post 21 American Legion
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to ask that memorial donations be made to Columbia Township Volunteer Fire Department, 29446 SR 143, Albany, Ohio 45710.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Doug's Carryout for always looking out for David. Michael for the party we wanted to have and always plowing the driveway to keep him safe.
