David Tieck Obituary

David Lee Tieck

Sioux City

David Lee Tieck, 69, of Sioux City was called home to God on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023.

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Wesley United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday with a prayer service at 6 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences may be made to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Dave was born on Aug. 11, 1953, in Sioux City to Duane and Ora Tieck. He graduated from Central High School's last class in 1972. He married his high school sweetheart, Bevelyn Stoneberg, in 1976. They welcomed two daughters, Sarah and Abigail who were the light of his life.

In the mid-1980s, David and his brother Dennis took over their family's business, the Glass House, Inc., which they operated until it closed in 2009. At home, Dave built a workshop for his tools and used his natural affinity for design to build many things. He loved riding motorcycles, flying planes, and camping in the mountains out West. Dave held a deep faith in God and often shared it with others - sometimes through testimony, but mostly by example and generosity.

In recent years, Dave found the greatest enjoyment and peace in the simplicity of time spent with his family, especially his wife, daughters, and son-in-law. Through time with Abby's cat Paisley, he discovered a love for animals. When a sweet tabby cat started coming to the back porch daily, Dave brought her into the house and named her Puffy. She was much loved (and spoiled) by Dave. Dave was a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend. He was and is still so precious and so very loved by those left behind to honor his memory.

He is survived by his wife, Bevelyn Tieck; daughters Abigail Tieck, and Sarah (Michael) Novak; brother, Dennis (Meryl) Tieck; and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law; and brother, Craig.

Dave was a great guy. I will always remember him calling on my dad's body shop. He was never too busy to make a special delivery in an emergency.
My condolences go out to his family.
