David Alan Tiemens, 73, of Cashmere, WA, passed away peacefully with his family's love and presence on August 24, 2024.
With a mischievous twinkle in his eyes and a quick humorous quip, Dave could charm anyone into a conversation that left you feeling like you found a long-lost friend.
Growing up in Western Washington as the eldest son of five siblings, his childhood was all about the great outdoors. His parents regularly took the whole family hunting, camping, and clamming at their Grandparent's cabin. David often tagged along with his father, who spent a lot of time around the motorcycle racing scene of the 1960's. Dave attended high school in the Everett area, where he married his high school sweetheart at the age of 17.
In 1977 he, his wife, and two young children, Allan and Michelle, bought a home and moved to Ferndale, WA. There they enjoyed more of the Great Northwest, their new home, dedicated service to their church family, neighbors, and friends. Dave worked in farming equipment sales for Brim Tractor in Lynden for many years and travelled throughout the Pacific Northwest and Canada.
Some of the greatest joys in Dave's life was supporting his son and daughter's school athletics and outdoor adventures. He was a fixture on the sidelines of his daughter's basketball and volleyball games and skiing alongside his son at Mt. Baker and Steven's Pass. He brought his love of the outdoors and adventure to his family as well and spent a lot of time camping at the family's property on Whidbey Island.
These past five years have been filled with focused time connecting with his now adult children and six grandchildren living in the Wenatchee area. The best of days were spent sitting by the river, playing endless card games, telling jokes, sharing stories, and watching his grandkids grow and play.
