Kenneth Greg Ficker, age 94, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2024, in Cashmere, Washington. He was born on August 6, 1930, in Hext, Menard, Texas, and was the son of Ova Ficker and Nina (Cox) Ficker.
Kenneth grew up on a farm in Texas, with his two sisters, Shirley and Sharon. As a teenager, his family moved to Southern California. During his high school years in California, Kenneth met the love of his life, Sarah Jane Clendennen. They were married on August 9, 1948. They had five children, four sons named Kenneth Edward (Jr), Ralph David, Steven Greg, Ronald William, and daughter named Shawna Jane. They lived in several locations in Southern California and then around 1965 they moved to Wenatchee, Washington. Over the years they lived in many areas of Washington state.
Kenneth was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in many volunteer roles in his church. He served many years in the Boy Scout program and loved working with the youth. He loved the outdoors, enjoyed camping, and viewing the beauty of nature. He and his wife loved traveling and explored many parts of the United States, Canada, and Mexico. He loved chatting with friends and family.
Kenneth had a career as a cabinet maker and many areas of home construction. He loved working with his hands and building quality wood cabinets and furniture. He loved having a garden and built several greenhouses over the years to maximize his garden production.
Kenneth is survived by four of his children, Kenneth Edward Ficker, Ralph David Ficker, Steven Greg Ficker, Shawna Jane Gibson, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition, his sister Sharon Klapstein.
Kenneth was predeceased in death by his parents, Ova and Nina Ficker, his wife Sarah Jane Ficker, his sister Shirley Cox, and his son Ronald William Ficker.
