David Tkach Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beck Funeral Home in Cedar Park on Apr. 21, 2023.
David Charles Tkach, 60, of Leander, TX, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday April 15, 2023 after a very sudden heart attack.
David was born on January 16, 1963 to John "Jack" and Evelyn (McCoy) Tkach in Streator, IL. After graduating with an Associate's Degree, David started working as a mechanic in the central Texas area, where he made his new home.
He later married Mitzi Saye, who gave birth to their only son, Joseph "Joey" Tkach, and was their only child together. David would go on to live the remainder of his life in their simple-yet-cozy Leander home, working hard month to month to support his family whom he loved very much.
David was predeceased by his two parents, John and Evelyn Tkach, as well as his older brother, Greg Tkach. He is survived by his son, Joey Tkach, as well as his niece, Laurie Benning of Streator, IL, and his nephews Kent Tkach of Lemont, IL, and Brent Tkach of Streator, IL.
Anyone who knew David likely knew how much he loved caring for his family. He worked tirelessly to provide a great life for his son, Joey, who is expected to graduate with a Master's Degree in Music Performance this May. David was such a proud father and loved to brag about his son, whom he would selflessly commit his time to, driving him to scouting events, music lessons, summer camps, helping with flights to major auditions for orchestras and music schools, and being a fountain of wisdom throughout his son's upbringing.
There will be two services celebrating David's life:
The first will be a Vigil on Thursday April 27th at Beck Funeral Home in Cedar Park, TX from 6:00-8:00pm. The service will start with an open-casket viewing, followed by a rosary the second hour.
The second service will be a Funeral Mass on Friday April 28th from 10:30-11:30am at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Cedar Park, TX. Lunch will be generously provided by the parish in the Benish Center after mass, which can be found right across the plaza from the main church. We hope you will join us in celebrating David and the wonderful life he lived.
He will be remembered as a man with a joyful, down-to-earth spirit who was a proud father and a good man all the way to the end of his life. May his joyful spirit now rest in the loving embrace of God the Father Almighty. Amen."
