David Lee Townsend, 66, passed away peacefully on the 1st of February, 2026, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Born on May 1st of 1959 in Gratis Ohio, to Clayton and Betty Townsend. David lived a life rooted in faith, hard work, and love. A dedicated truck driver by trade, David was first and foremost a loving husband, a devoted father, and a proud grandfather.
David loved spending his free time with family, playing guitar, watching football, college basketball, and cooking. His favorite pass-time was spending time with his grandchildren and his wife Pamela. David Graduated from Preble Shawnee High School in 1977, before enlisting in the United States Military. In his youth, David enjoyed playing baseball and making music. David was part of TMC, (Townsend, Middleton, and Caudill) a rock band with his best friends. In his later years, his greatest passion was his family.
David is survived by his wife, Pamela (Rader) Townsend, his children, David Lee Townsend II(Ronda Townsend), Reba Brock(Casey Brock), Leanna Townsend, Clayton Townsend(Brooklyn Ward), step-child Daniel Vicena, and 12 wonderful grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents Clayton Townsend and Betty Townsend, step-children Christopher Vicena, and Robert Vicena.
We welcome you to join us for a Celebration of Life for David at a later date, time, and place to be determined.
