Obituary published on Legacy.com by Boston Cremation - Malden Care Center on Feb. 28, 2025.
David John Trask Sr. of Methuen, MA. passed away in his home on 2/24/25 of natural causes.
Dave was born on 1/5/46 in Lawrence, MA. He was in the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War at the age of 18. He was a paratrooper and served from 1963-1966.
He was in the Laborer's Union from 1973-1983. After that, he was in car sales and then worked as a painter prior to retiring. He also spent some time living in Las Vegas. He was a lifetime member and past commander of the VFW Post 8349 in Methuen.
He was known for his sharp tongue and quick wit. He could make anyone laugh. When his kids were little he was always the first one to run around in the yard with them and his nephews. He took his son and friends fishing and taught his grandsons how to play poker. He had a charismatic personality that made people want to be around him. He was the first person to lend a hand to anyone who needed him. He built porches and decks for his children at the age of 76. He was always very active. He was chivalrous and would not let a woman carry a bag or open a door.
Dave is survived by his daughter, Deanna (Trask) Bower of Hampstead, NH, his son David Trask Jr. and wife Stacy of Methuen, his grandchildren Madison and her husband Kyle Moschetto, Max Trask, Owen Bower, Reese Bower and Shane Bower, his great granddaughter, Mia Moschetto, and his fiance, Kathleen Herron.
