Donald Trask Sr.

Augusta- Donald G. Trask Sr., 73, of Church Hill Road, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026, following an exhausting battle with cancer.

Don was born on May 5, 1952, the son of the late Edward W. Sr. and Barbara A. (Wing) Trask of Manchester where he spent his childhood.

Starting work at a young age, Don worked at Lipman's Poultry in Augusta, Poultry Products in Winslow and Baker Commodities in Vassalboro right up until illness forced him to retire. He also was self employed doing small engine repair and buying, selling and trading of small engine equipment.

In his spare time, he loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles, four wheeling on the trails and riding his snowmobile with friends. He loved going to the casino and spending time with close friends.

Don was predeceased by four sisters, Catharine, Betty, Norma and Diane. He is survived by a son, Donald G. Jr. and his wife Michelle Trask of Augusta; four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ethan, Evan and Elias Trask all of Augusta; five brothers, Edward Trask Jr. of Augusta, Richard and Debbie Trask of Monmouth, Francis Trask of Manchester, Roger and Evelyn Trask of Chelsea and Clinton Trask of Manchester; many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours celebrating Don's life will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1 Church Street, Augusta, ME. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 12:00pm. Burial will be in the spring at Scribner Cemetery in Manchester, ME.
